Community Involvement

Evansville Regional Airport proud to partner with the Honor Flight of Southern Indiana to honor America's Senior Veterans for all of their sacrifices by transporting them to Washington, DC to visit their memorials free of charge. Thanks to American Airlines, who provides the aircrafts that transport our Veterans, we are able to facilitate two of the events annually.

This year’s Honor Flights are scheduled for April 16 and Oct. 22, and you are invited to join us at the airport to help welcome home our World War II and Korean War Heroes, as they return from an Honor Flight visit to Washington D.C.

Feel free to bring your flags and signs and to dress in military uniforms or 1940's attire. And plan to arrive early – free shuttle service begins at 6 p.m. from the two parking areas which are located between Tri-State Aero and Hampton Inn and at Thunderbolt Pass Golf Course on Petersburg Rd. Directional signage will be visible. More details around flight times will be shared closer to dates of events. Visit https://www.facebook.com/EVVairport/ and https://www.facebook.com/evvhonorflight/ for more information around the Honor Flight events.
